Oskar Karlsson

Born in 1914 in Sjöarp outside Gnosjö. Karlsson had a keen interest in animals and nature and spent a lot of time in the forests of Småland. He collected butterflies and was skilled in the art of taxidermy. During his month of leave in Karlskrona, he spotted a stag beetle, which he took home to the foundry. Inspired by this insect, he created the boot jack in recycled aluminium.
